Abstract:
This report describes the determination of toxicity of two pyrethroids (Coopex and Danitol) against Sitophilus oryzae and Tribolium castaneum adults. The LC50 of Danitol was found to be 0.2749 % and that of Coopex was found to be 1.8 % against S. oryzae. Danitol treated Sitophilus adults showed 82 % and 70 % in GPT and GOT activity, respectively, whereas insect treated with Coopex showed 80 % and 24 % activity in GPT and GOT, respectively. In case of Tribolium castaneum the LC50 of Danitol was found to be 1.1 % and that of Coopex was found to be 0.027 %. Danitol treated Tribolium adults showed 78 % and 44 % in GPT and GOT, activity, respectively, whereas beetles treated with Coopex showed 98 % and 58 % activation in GPT and GOT activity, respectively.
