A study on the taxonomy and incidence of the species of genus psoroptes in buffaloes in Lahore.

Abstract:
The study was carried out to assess the incidence of Psoroptic mange mites infecting buffaloes. For this purpose 250 suspected buffaloes were examined and of these 50 were found positive for psoroptic mange. Species of Psoroptic mites were identified microscopically. The species identified were Psoroptes bovis and P. natalensis and with an incidence 56% and 44% respectively. The animals suffering from psoroptic mange had poor body conditions and damaged skins.
