Abstract:
This article presents a circuit for detecting zero crossing of 220Vac incoming supply. Discrete components have been used that make this circuit cost effective. Limited number of transistors are employed to reduce the time delay between the zero crossing of the signal and the occurrence of the synchronizing pulse. A step by step analysis of the circuit is done and detail voltage waveforms at different points are developed to show its practicality.
