Abstract:
Antelephas tatrotensis, new genus and species, from Tatrot zone of the Upper Siwaliks is a transitional stage between Elephas planifrons and Stegodon but definitely on the elephantine lineage. It confirms that elephants evolved from Stegondon and not from Stegotetrabelodon. Au thol A new spur bearing bundodont gomphothere recorded from the Dhok .Pathan beds of Pakistan.
