The Murree hill station, Pakistan: A prey of severe landslide hazards.

Abstract:
The paper describes terrain of the Murree hills region, northern Pakistan, including its physiography, geology and tectonics, along with a short introduction to its socio-economic situation. The phenomenon of mass movement due to unstable hill slopes is described. For the first time, technical parameters are presented for thirty-two landslide hazards that affect major highways. These hazards affect its tourism industry and socio-economic progress.
