Abstract:
Enrofloxacin is the flouroquinolone used as veterinary medicines. The therapeutic dose of enrofloxacin was given to poultry birds for consecutive 4 days. The egg and chicken samples were collected till 10 days after medication. The collected samples were analyzed by UN Spectrophotometer. It was observed that enrofloxacin residues washed out in 9 days while its major metabolite ciprofloxacin washed out in 8 days. Marketed samples were also collected, some of them showed positive result for residues. So it is concluded that poultry food should not be marketed before 6-9 days after medication.
