Abstract:
The present investigation looks at the effect of air entrainment on spouting characteristics in a water spouted bed. This phenomenon is examined in a semi-cylindrical column containing spherical glass beads and water, at fixed levels. For different bed heights the minimum spouting velocities are measured in a water spouted bed. The correlation of Mathur and Gishler and of Litman and co-workers were tested and found to be not applicable.
