Abstract:
A new genus, new species of the family Xyalidae and four new and five known species of free- living marine nematodes are reported from Pakistan. Arabanema pakistanensis gen. nov. sp. nov., is characterised by the presence of weakly developed, symmetric, shaped spicules, tubular gubernaculum without apophysis, conoid tail and shallow, unarmed conoid buccal cavity. Desmodora (Pseudochromadora) cliftensis n.sp., Ptycholaimellus sindhicus n.sp., Halichoanolaimus balochiensis n.sp., Odontophora hawksbiensis n. sp., are described and illustrated as new species. Chromadora nudicapitata Bastian, 1865; Endeolophos minutus Gerlach, 1967; Rhynchonema scutatum Lorenzen, 1971; Paracanthonchus hawaiiensis Allgen, 1951 and Paracomesoma longispiculum Timm, 1961 are reported and described for the first time from Pakistan.
