Abstract:
A phenomenon of the antennal assymmetry has been recorded for the first time in any apterygote order i.e. Collembola. The phenomenon has been observed in three entomobryide species, viz., Salina indica, Aphysa indica, Entomobrya kali and E. multifasci-ata. It is suspected that the cause of bringing about an antennal assymmetry in the Collembola is probably the power of regeneration present into the antennal muscles.
