Abstract:
Describes the advantages of the ultimate strength design over the Elastic design of R.C. Structures A number of tests were performed in the East Pakistan University of Engineering & Technology, which had shown encouraging results. It was found that by using 60% steel more than that required in the Elastic method for a balanced action, the ultimate moment is formed to be 4 times the Elastic moment with balanced reinforcement.
