Abstract:
The problems of implementing tuberculosis control programme have been discussed briefly. The problems were not merely the availability of technology, drugs, and equipment, but the delivery or the programme, due to socio-economic, cultural, planning and management problems. In fact, a standardized and effective tuberculosis control programme has been implemented during the last 2 decades, but the applicability of the programme in the community should be improved. Learning from the experience, the Department of Health is at the present time, preparing a new Master Plan of tuberculosis control programme toward the year 2000. According to the Master Plan, the socioeconomic, cultural, demographic, human behaviour and environzation and also target priority. A projection of tuberculosis prevalence has been made, based on some alternative programme.
