Abstract:

Specimens of the blue-green algae belonging to the class Nostocophyceae have been collected from various freshwater habitats in the districts of Kasur, Lahore, Pasrur, Sheikhupura and Sialkot in the Punjab Province of Pakistan and from different water bodies in Ayubia of N.W.F.P. as well as Muzaffarabad and Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir during June 1996-April 2000. They were taxonomically investigated and found to belong to 2 orders, 5 families, 17 genera and 31 species.
