Abstract:
The rise of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria is a critical threat to healthcare, largely driven by mobile antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) carried on plasmids, integrin’s, and transposons. This study aims to identify and characterize mobile ARGs in bacterial isolates from hospital samples. Clinical specimens (blood, urine, sputum, wound swabs) will be processed for bacterial identification, antibiotic susceptibility testing, and molecular detection of ARGs. Whole genome sequencing and bioinformatics will be used to explore genetic contexts, while conjugation assays will assess gene transferability. The findings will provide essential data on the prevalence and mobility of ARGs in clinical pathogens, contributing to infection control measures and antibiotic steward ship programs.
