Abstract:
Cyclodextrins (cycloamyloses), a series of oligosaccharides, are macro-cyclic molecules containing glucopyranose units connected by -1, 4-linkages. By making use of the hydrophobic and hydrophylic cavities of a cyclodextrin and a crown ether respectively, the synthesis and spectroscopic studies of a ternary inclusive complex made from a crown ether, potossium-4-nitrophenolate, and B-cyclodextrin were carried out and are reported here for the first time.
