Abstract:
Five different micro-hydro schemes have been described which will be installed in remote areas where adequate amount of water flow is available. These schemes also have a multipurpose applications, in addition to produce electrical power. These have been tested practically in suitable areas where water power from the flow was available. Most of these schemes described in this paper work on low hydraulic heads. Previously it was difficult to sortout that for a particular site which kind of technical scheme could be suitably installed, what would be its efficiency, out put electrical power, and cost involved. This paper provides such information for each scheme based on practical results.
