Abstract:
Design and development of two-layer optical coatings have been carried out for application as antireflection coating in 3-5 micron region. The designed layers were optimized for their performance by using computer simulation routines before carrying out deposition process. These optimized layers were then deposited at a pressure of 10-5 torr. The materials used for the two layers were cadmium sulphide (CdS) and zinc telluride (ZnTe) with quarter and half wave thickness respectively. Transmission results show that these coatings have increased the transmission of the silicon substrate by three times at the design wavelength.
