Abstract:
Comparative efficiencies of various straight and complex fertilizers on the yields of wheat, maizerice were studied at the Agricultural Research Institure, Tarnab (Peshawar), and Agricultural Research Station, Ratta Kulachi (D.I.Khan) during the years 1967-68 and 1968-69. Nitrogen in combination with phosphorus substantially increased the yields of wheat(Mexipak-65) at Tarnab and Ratta Kulachi.Nitroen plus phosphorus (P2 05) each at the rate of 120 lbs per acre were found to be the optimum levels for increasing the grain yield.Straight and complex fertilizers were equally effective to enhance the yields of wheat, maize and rice when applied on equal nutrient basis. High analysis fertilizers whether applied in straight or complex forms were economical on net nutrient basis.
