Abstract

Solvent effects on the maxima of the n- 11 absorption band of a variety of carbonyl compounds have been studied in a ra of solvents. Interesting results have been obtained leading to the involvement of the solute characteristics in the specific type of inter actions in which local dipole association factor is of major importance in determining the solvent shifts.
