Abstract:
Secondary transmission and grid system is a very important link in the overall mechanism for carrying electric power to where it is consumed. The developments in this field should keep pace with an ever-increasing generation of power to complete the circle. At present eleven generating stations, transmission lines and grid stations exist in the power system of Wapda. The development scheme of secondary transmission system consists of 132 kv and 66 kv transmission lines alongwith the grid stations in 12 secondary load centres, viz. Peshawar, Daudkhel, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Multan, Sahiwal, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Quetta. It is the most important link between the generating station and primary load centres on the one hand and the distribution network on the other.
