A case study of epilepsy: neurological assessment and psychological implications for brain deficits

Abstract:
This paper discusses a case in which patient underwent Meningitis and Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) at the age of seven. Stroke and meningitis caused ischemia which blocked the normal flow of blood stream and oxygen in her brain. Then after 10 years of stroke and high grade fever she started suffering from secondary epileptic seizures. Predisposing factor for secondary epilepsy was Meningitis and Cerebrovascular Accident/ brain stroke. This paper also discusses neuropsychological tests administered on the client in order to comprehend the nature and severity of her neurological trauma. Various psychological and medical treatments are also discussed keeping in view psychological deficits caused by neurological illness.
