Abstract:
Deals with the complex problems connected with water requirements of crops. To solve the problems, it is necessary to take actual observations of water requirements from all related aspects and then to determine the most effective common factor. Thornthwaite's concept of evapotranspiration appears to provide a fairly satisfactory basis for computation of water balance and water requirements of vegetation. Under the scheme of micro-climatic studies made by the observatories at Tandojam, Lyallpur, Tarnab and Quetta information obtained will be useful for arid zones of the Indus basin and Kalat State.
