Abstract:
A catalytic method for cobalt (II) using bromopyrogallol red-hydrogen peroxide reaction has been automated on technicon autoanalyser type (II). The method has a sampling rate of 10 samples per hour with 1:5 sample to wash ratio. The reaction was carried out at Optimum temperature of 40° C with reaction time of 5 minutes. The method had a detection limit of 0.05 p.p.b. of Co(II) with a relative standard deviation of 2.4% for 1.0 p.p.b. of Co(II).
