Abstract

Methyl-3B, 7x, 12α, trihydroxv-5B, β -cholanate is selectively oxidized to methyl 3-keto - 7α 2α-dihydroxy-5 B-cholanate with dimethylsulphoxide in the pi esence of collidine through its tosylate.
