Abstract:
Primary alkyl, aryl, and heteroaryl amines are converted both by tricyclic and pentacyclic pyrylium bromides into the corresponding tricyclic and pentacyclic pyrindinium bromides in good yields. The latter when subjected to solvolysis by refluxing in 1, 4-dioxane gave the required alkyl, aryl, and heterroaryl bromides.
