Abstract:
Tourism plays a big role in Pakistan’s economy, culture, and community growth. But climate change is becoming a bigger problem for tourism, especially in areas that are ecologically important and located in mountains, like District Dir Upper. This study looks at how things like hotter weather, unpredictable rain, and damage to the environment are affecting tourism activities, the buildings and facilities that support tourism, and the jobs and income of local people. It also looks at ways to make tourism more sustainable and able to handle climate challenges, such as using eco-friendly methods, getting local people involved, and making good plans. The study uses a case study of District Dir Upper to show how local efforts, green buildings, and efforts to raise awareness can help deal with climate risks and improve tourism. The study finds that including smart climate strategies in tourism development is key to protecting nature, helping local communities, and making sure tourism is both economically and environmentally sustainable in the long run. In the end, this study shows that making tourism in District Dir Upper sustainable can be a good example for other parts of Pakistan to follow in balancing development with the ability to handle climate change.
