Abstract:
LD50 dose of permethrin (coopex) when applied to the 4th instar larvae of Trogoderma granarium (Everts.) was 1258.93 ppm. 50 ml of 1887, 1258, 629 and 314.5 ppm each was applied to 1 kg of wheat separately. 1887 ppm caused the maximum mortality of 13.3% after 2 days which had reached 43% after 10 days. 1258 ppm and 629 ppm also caused 10% and 3.3% mortality after two days which had reached 33.3% and 16.6% after 10 days respectively. The lowest dose of 314.5 ppm resulted in no mortality. But grains treated with this dose sustained the maximum weight loss of 0.018% in the wheat after 2 days. After 10-days 3.3% mortality was observed and weight loss was 0.88%. No treatment resulted in no mortality and consequently sustained the maximum weight loss ranging from 0.018% to 0.88% after 2 and 10 days respectively.
