Abstract:
Polyonchobothrium humidii n.sp. has been described and figured from a fresh water teleost Channa punctatus in a pond at Ballia, U.P., India. The worms were characterized by 48 rostellar hooks in four groups and 24-30 testes besides other comparable character with the closer species P. armatii (Malhotra and Chauhan, 1990), P. allahabadense (Gairola and Malhotra, 1987), P. cylindraceum majus (Janicki, 1926) and P. polypteri (Leydig, 1853).
