Hematological, Histopathological and Hepatic Effect of Anthelmintic Drugs Derivatives in Domestic Chicken (Gallus gallus Domesticus)

Abstract:
The aim of present study was to evaluate the effect of mebendazole derivative on hematology, liver function and histopathology in domestic chicken. Forty five domestic chickens were divided into three groups (A, B, C) and sub-groups(R1, R2, R3) each subgroup contain five chickens. Group B and C were treated with mebendazole and mebendazole derivative orally for three consecutive days respectively. The blood sample were collected through fine needle syringe from brachial wing vein at end of experiment and analyzed for hematological and serological parameters. The chickens were sacrificed the intestine and liver were processed for histopathology. The present results of hematology of Group B (Mebendazole) and Group C (Mebendazole derivatives) revealed that The Red Blood Cells (RBCs), White Blood Cells (WBCs), Platelets (PLT), Lymphocytes(L), Granulocytes (G), Hemoglobin (HB), Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV),Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin (MCH), Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentrations (MCHC), Mean Platelets Volume (MPV) were not affected(P>0.05) all hematological and serum biochemistry parameters( ALT, AST,SBR) value were in the normal range as compared to Group A (Control). The body weight of experimental chicken is not affected with drugs administration. Egg per gram in experimental group (B, C) show non-significant (P0.05. Histomorphology of duodenum, jejunum and ilium,Villus Width (VW), Villus Height (VH), Crypt Depth (CD), Villus Surface Area(SA) show significant (P>0.05) as compared to Control group. It is concluded that the Mebendazole and its derivative are effective in controlling gastrointestinal parasites in chickens without any side effects. It is recommended that mebendazole derivative should be used for the control of gastrointestinal parasite infections in poultry, and further investigation and molecular study should be conducted in future.
