Abstract:
A unique fossil cephalopod specimen ot Middle Eocene age belonging to the nautiloid Family Nautilidae has been recovered from the base of the Chorgali Formation (locally called Bhadrar Beds) in the Salt Range near Noorpur, Chakwal District Punjab, Pakistan. The specimen exhibits morphological similarities with the upper Cretaceous genus Carinonautilus, but may represent a new genus.
