Abstract:
Experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of spironolactone on the growth of anuran todpoles. I/m1 of spironolactone solution was used in 1-4 experiments. All test groups of Rana cyanophlyct is showed improved growth than controls on the 40th day due to evoked secretion of aldosterone. In addition another experiment was carried out on Buffo meIanosticus tadpoles. Test group of Buffo tadpoles maintained in 5ug/m1 solution of spironolactone showed better for about 8 days than controls. Test group maintained of 4 days. Ultimately, test tadploes were shorter in body length than controls. Since higher concentrations of the drug suppressed 21-hydroxylase, attenuating cortisol that augmented ACTH.
