Abstract:
Use of such alkaloids as Sorrmiferin and protodioscine rich in furastanole (Steroid Saponins) has been known since a long time. It has been tried in Europe, China and USSR in Geriatrics, oligospermics, azospermics and general debility cases with tangible positive results. A drug namely 'VERONA'(Herbion Pakistan Ltd. Karachi) which contains these alkaloids was given in different regimen to persons who were suffering from loss of concentration, forgetfulness, exhaustion, debility, lack of libido and oligospermics. After careful clinical examination and laboratory investigations, the drug was administered to only those individuals who had oligospermics, azospermics and low motility of sperms. The results showed that the count of motility of spermatozoa was markedly improved in case of oligospermics after the use of 3 months of the drug. Besides, fertility improved in nine different males and the positive pregnancy tests were observed in their females. The drug is also effective as an analgesic in sinusitis and migraine. It is a bio-stimulator & revitalizer.
