Abstract:
In the oysters of Karachi coast the gonads become fully mature by the end of May and begin their spawning from June which continues upto September, with a peak during August-September. The optimum range of temperature favourable for spawning Varies from 27°C to 30°C and inhibit spawning when there is a fall, and a critical temperature 24C, is reached. The suitable range of salinity for spawning varies from 25% to 30.5%. The presence of a large number of males in the beginning induces spawning in the female. 595.1 Vermes. Worms. Helminthes
