Abstract:
The city sewage effluents water were evaluated to determine their quality for irrigation purposes under two categories (i) domestic sewage (ii) combine (domestic + industrial) sewage. It was investigated that domestic sewage effluent was of moderate type and can be used for safe irrigation. However the combine (domestic + industrial) sewage effluent was severe type and hazardous for irrigation on the basis of electric conductivity, total dissolved solids, residual sodium carbonate, sodium adsorption ratio, pH, manganese cadmium and zinc and can cause environmental damage when used as such for irrigation without any treatment.
