Basin modeling has become a standard tool in oil and gas exploration these days. One dimensional modeling technique provides an easy tool to reconstruct burial, thermal and maturity history, timing of maturity of source rock intervals and also predicting the maturity reached by the source rocks during the basin development. An example of one-dimensional maturity modeling of the potential source rocks of Middle Indus Basin and the Pishin Frontier Basin, has been worked out in detail to illustrate how maturity modeling should be carried out. Prior to and during modeling an effort was made to integrate all available geological, geochemical and geophysical concepts and data to create single geological model. The use of sensitivity analysis in maturity modeling is very important for understanding the geologic system and for knowing that what level of confidence to place on the results. In the Middle Indus Basin, Habib Rahi Limestone is falling in the oil window at present, whereas Sembar Formation has generated oil along the western limit of Punjab Platform and condensate and dry gas within the depression and foldbelt areas. Oil shale of Salt Range Formation is within the limits of oil window along the eastern portion of Punjab Platform. In the Pishin Frontier Basin, Nisai Formation is falling within the gas window at present.
