Abstract:
The virulence of entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema pakistanense against various insect species eg., mango mealy bug (Drosicha mangiferae), cockroach (Periplanata americana), subterranean termite (Macrotermis), sugarcane shoot borer (Chilo infuscatellu), sugarcane top borer (Scirpophaga nivella), rice stem borer I and II (I: Tryporyza incertulus and II: Cnaphalocrocis medinalis), lesser army worm (Spodoptera exigua), centipede and millipede were assessed by filter and sand assays in laboratory experiment. All were susceptible against S. pakistanense except the centipedes and millipedes. In filter paper assay only cockroach, termite and lesser armyworm showed more than 90% mortality whereas in sand assay except sugarcane shoot borer, centipede and millipede other insect species showed 92-96% mortality.
