Abstract:
Bacteriological examination of uterine exudate from 55 repeat breeding sheep revealed that 49 animals were infected. Monobacterial infection was seen in 32 animals and mixed infection was present in 17 animal while the rest of 6 samples were sterile. In monobacterial infection Streptococcus pyogenes, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Corynaebacterium pyogens and Escherichia coli were isolated. The other infecting bacteria were antibiogram showed that gentamycin and streptomycin were equally affective, Chloramphenicol and Kanamycin also gave good results.
