Abstract:

A survey study was planned during February, 1985 in eight canal irrigated districts of Punjab to ascertain the most recent information of the world renowned breed of dairy buffalo (Nili-Ravi) in respect of its performance under rural system. the paper contains information about farm size population of buffaloes, their milk yield, age at puberty, first calving, calving interval and dry period. The incidence of prolapse, dystocia, abortion and mortality are discussed.
