Abstract:
The genus Tamarix Linn is reviewed from Pakistan. In all 26 species are recognized including 5 new species viz. Tamarix pakistanica Qasier, T. alit Qaiser, T. baluchistanica Qaiser, T. sultan-ii Qaiser and T. sarenenis Qaiser; one new combination, T. androsso-wii Litwin var. transcaucassica (Bge) Qaiser and 7 new records. T. szovitsiana Bge., T. parviflova DC., T. smyrenensis Bge., T.mas catensis Bge., T. tetragyna Ehrenb. ex regel and T. karelinii B g e., and T. bengalensis Baum are reduced to synonymy for the first time.
