Abstract:
This paper discusses a design and implementation of PC based interface with wide range of peripheral devices and sensors. This is useful in computing, instrumentation, simulation and control applications. Pakistan is developing country, which use low to high technology instrumentation in industries. Instrumentation and control equipment enhance the quality and economy of an industry. Most of the electronic instrumentation and measurement devices are expensive and every engineer cannot afford them independently. For these reasons it is highly demanded to launch a research project which should enhance the capabilities of different users to control the out side power devices via their personal computers. The project must support the novice users to handle the out side electrical power devices without putting them in software/hardware confliction. Instead it should be facilitated to connect the external hardware to their Personal Computer without opening the cover of PC and conflicting with the inside hardware, Keeping this in mind, a PC-based data administrator system is designed, having ability to perform functions of many measurement devices, which form the backbone of an electronic lab. It has been kept in mind that designed system should prove useful in industry as well as in educational institutions.
