Abstract:
Abortion is termination of pregnancy practiced by girls/women due to several reasons. The abortion is opted due to personal, social, moral, religious and cultural factors. Abortion is an illegal practice and its incidence is highly unreported. Abortion cases are highly debated in developed societies like America. The Courts in America have structured their responses regarding abortion where certain rules of the conduct are pre-requisites. The women, family, and concerned stakeholders decide critically about the option. This study has accessed data on abortion through secondary studies and primary participant observation. Fifty participant observers were selected from different clinics in Hyderabad. Abortion is a social practice due to births which are unwanted or illegitimate. These births are result of illegal sex, novice sex-encounters, rape and consensual sexual acts outside marriage. Abortion practices can be checked through intervention based on family awareness, social change, religious role and cultural freedom regarding the rights of women related to reproductive health.
