Abstract:
This paper discusses briefly experience of using WASP computer code for power generation expansion planning studies in Pakistan. Now a days the country is facing an acute shortage of power and, therefore, WAPDA and KESC are trying to bring forward the originally planned commissioning dates of various plants and are also installing gas turbines which will later on be converted to combined cycle plants to improve their efficiency. In this connection WAPDA carried out an electric system expansion planning study the main features of the study, and its results are elaborated.
