Abstract:
A simple and effective technique of picking the desired palynomorphs from fossil pollen residue is developed, for scanning electron microscopic study. In this technique no adhesive substrate or any kind of mounting media or beewax on eyebrow hair which is attached to the arm of micromanipulator, is required. Although, the fossil pollen residue is not completely free of mineral debris and the organic constituents are of bigger size, the picking of the palynomorphs is positive and free of problem. The technique described herein is more objective and useful, especially in case where only one palynomorph is subjected to the scanning electron and optical microscopic study.
