Abstract:
Some of the tertiary mono-substituted derivatives of adamantane have been prepared by convenient routes e.g. conversion of 1-bromo adamantane with Me-CN/H2SO4 to 1-acetamide derivative which on hydrolysis afforded 1-amine adamantane. 1-Bromo derivative has been obtained from bridgehead halogen exchange. Carboxy, chloro and hydroxy derivatives have also been prepared.
