Abstract:

In orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system side lobe suppression is an essential topic specially in OFDM based overlay systems. In this paper, the authors considered two approaches: Sub carrier weighting (SW) which is based on the multiplication of the used sub carriers with real-valued weighting factors and another technique is the conventional windowing of OFDM signal in time domain. They combined SW with windowing technique. Simulation results show that by combining SW with windowing technique side lobes in OFDM system can be reduced, which enables to design an OFDM based overlay system.
