Abstract:
Post-partum oestrus period may be reduced by stimulating the uterine involution through induction of parturition by using dexamethasone, early weaning and by using colostrum, PMSG, GnRH and corticosterolds. Improved measures e.g. milk progesterone test, may be applied for timely heat detection especially in cases of silent oestrus. Conception rate can be increased by antibacterial infusion 24 hours after insemination especially in animals suspected for endometritis. Facilities should be made for earlypregnancy diagnosis in the herd. PG F should be used to reduce oestrous cycle in non-pregnant animals.
