Abstract:
An attempt has been made to make some useful alloys of Al-Cu, Al-Si and Al-Cu-Si using secondary Al metal, produced from aluminum scrap which is available in abundance in the local market. Different important tests, like ultimate tensile strength, proof strength, elongation, hardness, Izod Impact strength, coefficient of thermal expansion, density, solids temperatures and micro structures, corrosion resistance and mechin ability have also been studied. The results have been tabulated showing comparative improvement in various bearing properties.
