Abstract:
Cultural practices with regard to the cultivation and acclamitisation of S. aviculare, a medicinal plant of Australian origin are discussed. The plant is a perennial under-shrub under Peshawar climatic conditions. It has been successfully grown from seed and also propagated vegetatively in the Ex-perimental Farm at Peshawar. The best season for its sowing has been observed to be September-October, so that the plants may attain sufficient size before winter sets in. Larger plants can withstand the frost during winter and heat during summer. It has also been observed that this plant can grow in the wild state as well.
