Abstract:
This work has been intended to provide an alternate means for radiation dose strength measurement by developing a technique to verify the measurements and ultimately enhance the quality. Gamma camera has been used with low energy collimator 1.5% window and setting energy 140 KeV for photo peaks. Radiation counts response from the gamma cameras is consistent with the radiation dose response from the calibrator. The graphs between the dose strength in mCi and k. counts/second shows a linear relation with standard error ≥ 0.01 and ≤ 0.0172. Gamma camera can alternately be used to verify the dose strength, with the help of integrated software. The standard errors due to the change in the dose measuring technique can be rectified by the use of statistical parameters.
