Abstract:
Replacement of electromechanical system with the electronic technology promises much better payoff with increased reliability, maintainability, system flexibility and performance. Electronic timers controlled road traffic signals was designed, built and tested in the laboratory. The potential advantages of this system are projected into the areas of design, performance and operational characteristics. For best performance, metal film timing resistors and tantalum capacitors are used.
