Abstract:
The present study was conducted in 2002 to evaluate the role of social mobilization in natural resource management particularly in agriculture, livestock and forestry. The study was confined to the working area of Agha Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP). For this purpose total 62 respondents were selected randomly from three sampled villages and were interviewed with the help of a pre-tested interview schedule. The study revealed that the sense of responsibility and condifence has affected favorably the socio-economic standard of the people , due to significant improvement in their agricultural production and tree plantation. Due to participation in NRM related activities the income of the respondents has also been increased. It was recommended that true development is possible only when the people are involved in identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of all development programme.
